HCR ManorCare provides a range of services, including skilled nursing care, assisted living, post-acute medical and rehabilitation care, hospice care, home health care and rehabilitation therapy.
The Food Service Director organizes, plans, directs, controls, and supervises functions and personnel within the dietary department which provides food and nutrition services. Ensures the provision of quality food service and nutritional care.

Associate's or higher degree in food service management or in hospitality, including a course of study in food service or restaurant management from an accredited institution of higher learning.
Food service supervisory experience required; at least two years experience in long term care preferred.
To be qualified, must meet the following criteria:
- ServSafe Certification for Managers, National Restaurant Association, and
- Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP), per the Certifying Board for Dietary Managers, the credentialing agency of the Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (ANFP), or
- Associate’ or higher degree in food service management or in hospitality, including a course of study in food service or restaurant management from an accredited institution of higher learning
As the Food Service Director, you plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the Food Service Area. ou direct the preparation, service and delivery of meals to provide healthy and appetizing food to residents, families and guests. This position requires tact, sensitivity and a professional attitude and appearance.
Recruits, selects, orents and trains Food Service Staff.
Supervises the Food Service staff providing necessary direction and creating assigned schedules to successfully deliver overall services from the depatment.
Bachelors of Science Degree in Food Service Management, Food and Nutrition or Dietetics Preferred. Associate degree in Food Services or Dietetics or successful completion of a Food Service Management course required. Food Service Sanitation certificate per State/Local requirements.
1-2 years hospitality or health care food management experience preferred. Ability to communicate effecftively, using written and verbal English with internal and external customers. Experience working with the elderly preferred. Computer literacy preferred or willingness to learn and use computerized food service system.
Willing to work flexible hours, which will include weekends, holidays and other positions as needed. Willing to be on-0call and to fill in all food service positions as needed.
